What does it take to achieve success and make
a difference? The conversation starts here ...

  1. Believe in yourself!

"Never give up, never regret and follow your destiny." - Kostya Tszyu.

These are the words of a winner, a man who has followed his heart and his dreams to the ultimate level of his profession - Boxing World Champion. His ability to believe in his own potential has given him the edge and the endurance to succeed.

The ability to believe in one’s self is a common attribute of successful people.  All of our achievers have a strong sense of self-belief and that carries through in the way they live their lives. If you don’t believe in yourself and your own potential it makes it very hard to be confident - and confidence is essential for dealing with people.

I believe that everyone has talent and that by having faith in yourself and your talents, you will reach your goals. One of my goals is to raise my children to have the confidence to pursue their own dreams. The only way I can teach them this is by setting a good example and by showing them that I believe in their potential as well as my own.  It is a great boost to confidence and self-belief when others believe in you too…

Kostya’s greatest talent is that he is able to see and understand his own potential.

    What’s your greatest talent?

I consider myself a passionate person. I am passionate about social justice and collaborative, open source culture. This is definitely one of my strengths.

I totally believe in the belief of Believing in oneself. One should always be confident of achieving one’s goals. Life has taught me, that even though one is fully determined to achieve one’s goals and to go for it full flegedly, yet there are many unavoidable hurdles that may come your way. But the determination to achieve should be so strong that one should be able to cross these hurdles and move in a very positive direction towards one’s goals.

It is important that we should be strong willed and determined because there are times when the hurdles and the impediments are predominant in one’s life. At that time one asks oneself that where am I going wrong? I am doing all the things right, then why is destiny playing these pranks on me? Infact sometimes you are driven so much to the wall because of these impediments that you feel cheated by your own destiny. But one needs to overcome such emotions and therefore such hurdles because these moments of trial are momentary and they would fade away. With utmost humility I would say, that these difficult moments should also be taken as a gift of God as I believe that God tests only those people through these troublesome days whom he considers able and special. So thinking of oneself as God’s special Child one should be an optimist and see brightness in all aspects of life and move positively towards achieving one’s goal.

I fully agree with you Sonali Malhotra ji
a person should have a child like faith
the belief and faith builds a person’s character

Sonali Malhotra on November 13th, 2007 at 5:08 am

Faith in oneself should be so strong that nobody can ever break it.
Belief in oneself should be so strong that nobody can shake it and
One’s character should be so strong that nobody can malign it.

Hmmm. I disagree. I draw strength from believing in others. I’m fascinated by other humans. I find too much self-analysis boring.

I agree with Melanie! About myself. I don’t know her so I can’t agree with what she says about herself! LOL

hey kostya!! just wanted to say hi, you are wicked man. :):)

Sonali Malhotra on November 14th, 2007 at 4:25 am

Believing in others is also a good thing but that is only possible when others are worth believing in. That may seem to be a rare case these days.

Kostya showed me a kind human spirt can survive even in a sport like boxing - where so many have been built up then destroyed. Kostya brought back my faith in boxing, sportmanship and to a degree humanity.

am optimistic and beilive on God who looks after me as welll as my family members and others. Therefore, most of the time I have no problem weather time is good or bed. I believe that unless until a person have a test of both sides he is unable to enjoy the happyness, sweetness etc.

Self doubt is just about as important as self belief. How else you learn and progress?

Heath on December 3rd, 2007 at 11:22 am

Arvind, good point. Learn from your doubts, just don’t get caught up on them. :)

Believing in ones self is a characteristic atribute of the human mind that enhances productivity at its peak. it is a character of a self made man and individual. it is the pivot of self realisation. An atribute found in a courageous individual………..

Each one of us has the power of the DIVINE within us. We are all created in His image.
It is upto to each one of us to use this DIVINE power to contribute to our growth as well as to the betterment of humanity. Unfortunately we are distracted from this path. We need to be steadfast in our efforts despite these distractions

I do believe in myself. What inspires me to believe in my own potentials is the fact that I am created by Someone who loves me unconditionally and I am created according to His own image and likeness. I believe I am created for something and not for nothing- it fuels me to move on in the midst of adversity. Identify your potentials, believe in yourself - they’re indeed great twins. We can do all things as long as we believe.

Hello, of course I came to visit your site and thanks for letting me know about it.
